Thirteen companies attended Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar’s first annual career and networking fair, IGNITE. The event provided students with the opportunity to learn more about job opportunities that might suit their skill sets.
The applications for automatic language transcription are wide-ranging and growing in number. Video and audio content, from broadcast news programs to lectures and meetings, will soon become searchable, to the point of knowledge sharing.
Qatar Computing Research Institute and EML European Media Laboratory have combined efforts to advance very large vocabulary speech recognition technology and systems for Arabic. The result of the cooperation will be an automatic Arabic language transcription system.
